We are recruiting for an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations on a variety of civil engineering projects across Aberdeenshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all works are carried out safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate all on-site activities and subcontractors
Ensure compliance with all HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality) standards
Oversee project progress and provide accurate reporting to senior management
Interpret construction drawings and specifications
Manage site resources including labour, materials, and plant
Prepare and maintain accurate site records (diaries, progress reports, delivery logs)
Identify hazards, assess risk, and prepare RAMS as required
Deliver job instructions and toolbox talks to the site team
Chair or attend site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, statutory bodies, and stakeholders
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
Assist commercial teams with measurement and valuations
Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving site issues effectively
Support tender reviews and contribute to project delivery strategies
Coach and develop site teams, promoting a strong safety culture and positive morale
Monitor staff performance and undertake appraisals
Requirements:
SMSTS accreditation
CSCS (Black or Gold)
Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, planning, and H&S regulations
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence
Technical qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline (desirable)
